Anurag Bhushan joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1995. As a career diplomat, his overseas assignments have included Political, Information and Cultural work in Tokyo; Economic, Commercial, Visa and Administration responsibilities in Dhaka and as Head of the Political and Administration wings in the Indian Embassy in Berlin. He was also responsible for training of foreign diplomats as well as Indian Foreign service officers during his assignment at the Foreign Service Institute in New Delhi.
Most recently, he was Head of the Regional Passport Office in New Delhi.
Anurag Bhushan has grown up largely in Uttar Pradesh. He is an alumnus of IIT, Kanpur and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Executive Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
His hobbies include playing tennis, golf and swimming.
He is married and has a son and a daughter. His wife, Mrs. Neeta Bhushan, is also in the Indian Foreign Service and is presently the Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi.
